Sun, sand and sea

Beautiful sun, sand and sea.

That is what I would describe Dubai beaches (in winter time, that is.. otherwise the sun is too hot it'll burn you). Seriously, I would add Dubai beaches to the best beaches in the world list if I could.

 oh-so-beautiful

Just relax, unwind and soak up the gulf sun. That's my definition of a perfect holiday.

One of the most popular beaches in Dubai is Jumeirah beach, which run alongside Jumeirah Road. It's about 25 minutes drive from the city centre or you can take bus no 8A from Gold Souk bus station.

The beach has become world famous because of Burj Al Arab, the ultra luxury 7-star hotel.

The hotel has become the most photographed spot, a trademark of Dubai. Thus, it explains why I am so jakun and camwhored like mad here. ;p

The cheapest rate I got for the hotel was around AED3750 per night for a deluxe 1-bedroom suite, and that was for summer GCC offer. Siapa nak pergi Middle East sana time summer you tell me? Panas gila ok.

To protect the exclusivity of the hotel and the privacy of their guests, you can't simply enter the hotel to look around. But a tip for you, the cheapest option to visit the hotel as a non-guest is by having breakfast at Sahn Eddar restaurant. It'll still cost you AED190 per person, though.

Next to Burj Al Arab lies another equally beautiful hotel, the Madinat Jumeirah.

It's built around a network of waterways amid acres of perfectly landscaped palms. Simply beautiful!

And it gives you good views of Burj Al Arab too.

Within the hotel compound, there's also a souq to cater for your shopping hunger. Fans of fashion, jewellery, antiques, art and Arabian souvenirs will all find their appetites sated by the stores on offer.

After all the fun under the sun, we headed back to the city for another round of windowshopping at Dubai Mall, the biggest mall in the world. The mall is also adjacent to the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa.

Hmm.. after a packed day of sightseeing and shopping, now all I need is a fun day out chillaxing...
