How to Apply Chinese Visa for Malaysian

If you are thinking of going to China for year end holiday, remember to apply for your Chinese Visa. Malaysians are REQUIRED to have visa to travel in Mainland China (Hong Kong and Macau is excluded).

If you don't have time or want the easy way, just ask your Travel Agent to apply on your behalf. But I think the steps are really simple just DIY la.

Here's what you need to do to apply for China Tourist Visa.

# 1. Complete the Online Visa Application Form here. Print it out and put your signature.

# 2. Bring along;
  i. Original passport with at least Six Months of remaining validity and with at least Two Blank Pages.
ii. A photocopy of the passport’s info page.
iii. 2 China Visa Passport Photo (color photo with forehead shown, white background, size 48mm x 33mm).
iv. Flight Ticket Copy (supporting document)
For more detailed info, you can refer here.

# 3. Head to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center.
It is located at Level 5 & 6, Hampshire Place Office, Jalan Mayang Sari, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Like I said earlier, the process is really simple. Just head to visa submission center at Level 5. The receptionist will check your documents and provide you a waiting number. I went around 9ish and waited about 5~10 minutes. But if you come during peak hours, the waiting time can be 30 minutes to an hour. Once your number is called, submit the relevant documents and they will give you a pickup form.

Individual application @ Level 5

# 4. The visa will be ready in 4 working days (regular application) after submitting your passport.
If you need the visa urgently, they also have Express application (3 days) or Rush application (2 days) but of course you need to pay more.

# 5. Bring the pickup form on the day of collection (mentioned on pickup form) and proceed to Level 6. Produce your form to the receptionist to get your waiting number. Once your number is called, go to the payment counter.
Refer the Schedule of Fees for the visa application fees. Cash and credit card accepted.

 Payment & Collection @ Level 6

# 6. Your passport is ready to be collected once payment is made.
